Carol Calfee

Over the last 25 years, Carol's classroom, administration, and teaching experiences have involved a wide range of populations from Pre-Kindergarten through the elderly. In 1990, Carol took on the challenge of developing a Full-Service Schools Program. The program (which has become a state, national and international model) focuses on providing school-based and school-linked services for students and families at or near school sites. As a Director of Federal programs, Carol's recent initiatives include program planning and management for Title I, Title X (Homeless Education), military partnerships, mentoring, character education, violence prevention and emergency management, missing children, migrant children, and the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Roundtable (a public, problem-solving forum involving 50 collaborating partners in Santa Rosa County). Carol's current publishing credits include 16 national and international publications, including the texts, Building a Full-Service School (1998) Jossey-Bass Publishing, San Francisco, CA. and A McKinney-Vento Toolbox: Constructing a Robust and Rigorous Homeless Education Program, In Case of Disaster and Every Day (2007) National Center for Homeless Education at Serve, a chapter in Advances in School-Based Mental Health Interventions (2004).

Carol retired with a disabling movement disorder in 2010 and is currently enjoying her new role as Nana CC to three beautiful grandchildren.
