Brian Miller

Brian D. Miller is an author and the founder of Seir Hill, an award-winning non-alcoholic spirits brand. His writing on sobriety grew out of his own long and complicated experience trying to quit drinking, and eventually finding a way that worked for him.

He is the author of The View from a Windowless Basement: A Guide to Sobriety for the Skeptic, the Misfit, and the Relapsed and From the Well, a Christ-centered exploration of recovery and faith. Through his writing and None For Me, Brian explores what it means not simply to stop drinking, but to live well without alcohol.

Brian is also a Simon & Schuster author whose books Above the Fold and Principles of Web Design have been used in universities across the country. A designer, creative director, entrepreneur, and longtime college professor, he has spent more than 25 years exploring how people make decisions, change behavior, and build meaningful things.

He lives with his wife and daughters in a converted 1744 barn in Connecticut, along with a small army of cats.
