James A. Good

James Good earned a Ph.D. in history at Rice University in 2001, specializing in intellectual history. His dissertation studied the influence of Hegel on the philosophy of John Dewey. That dissertation formed the basis of his first book, published in 2006 as A Search for Unity in Diversity: The “Permanent Hegelian Deposit” in the Philosophy of John Dewey. In addition to many scholarly articles, book chapters, editor's introduction to primary sources, and book reviews, Good also co-authored John Dewey’s Philosophy of Spirit, with Dewey’s 1897 Lecture on Hegel (2010) with John Shook. Since 2002, Good has been a professor of history at Lone Star College-North Harris in Houston, TX. Since 2006, Good has also served as Chair of the Department of Social Sciences at LSC-North Harris.
