William E. Waters

William E. Waters, aka Easy Waters, is an award-winning poet, playwright, and essayist. He's the author of four books of poetry, including the award-winning epic poem, Black Shadows and Through the White Looking Glass: Remembrance of Things Past and Present, a novel, Streets of Rage, and Conundrums: Stories of Law & Justice. His works have appeared in several anthologies, journals, magazines, and newspapers, including The New York Times and Newsday. For his work within the criminal legal system, Citizens Against Recidivism, Inc., a nonprofit dedicated to working with people impacted by the criminal legal system, renamed the Ralph Bunche Bridge Builder Award he received in 2007 to the William Eric Waters Bridge Builder Award. He has bachelor's degrees from SUNY New Paltz and the University at Albany. He also has a master's degree from New York Theological Seminary. He lives in Brooklyn, NY.
