Nick Jacobs

Nick Jacobs grew up in the Midwest but has also lived and worked in Taiwan, Russia, Australia and England. While an English major at the University of Michigan, Nick received an Avery Hopwood Award for Creative Writing. Previous winners include the playwright Arthur Miller and writer/director Lawrence Kasdan.

After moving to Los Angeles, Nick talked his way into a job on a film crew as an assistant location manager even though he only lived there a matter of weeks. Nick was the first person accepted simultaneously to both UCLA and USC graduate film schools on his first attempt. He started at USC but later transferred and graduated from UCLA with an M.F.A. in directing.

After film school, Nick was sent to Moscow to do research and write a movie about the Russian mafia, often accompanying Reuters news bureau reporters on their assignments. Later, Nick worked as a staff writer for a sci-fi series in Australia.

Nick currently lives in New York City.
