Thomas E. Schott

I'm a historian of the American South. My book, Alexander H. Stephens of Georgia in the standard biography of the Confederate vice president. It won both the Jefferson Davis Award and the cash prize of the Society for American Historians for best first book. It was also nominated for the Pulitzer Prize for 1988, the first such nomination ever made by LSU Press.
