FRANK D. McCANN is Professor of History Emeritus in the University of New Hapshire. Education at Niagara University (A.B., 1960), Kent State University (M.A., 1962), Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro (Fulbright, 1965), and Indiana University (Ph.D., 1967). He received research fellowships Fulbright-Hays (Brazil:1965-66,1974,1976-77,1991), the National Historical Publications Commission (1970-71), the American Philosophical Society (1970,1971,1973,1991), Social Science Research Council and American Council of Learned Societies (1976-77), the University of New Hampshire (14 grants), and the Heinz Endowment (1985-87).
