If my biography were a ship, it would have a fairly random course, or rather no particular course at all. I graduated from Virginia Tech (a so-called cow-college, also known as E.I.E.I.O.), with a BA degree in English Literature and a minor in History. Realizing the impracticalities of finding paid work on the strength of such a degree, I took a Masters Degree from the School of Journalism in Columbia, Missouri. After graduation I worked for Defenders of Wildlife Magazine in Washington, D.C., for two years, where I met Roger DiSilvestro, with whom I would later work on several projects.
