Don Hepler

"Reading should be fun, not work," says Don Hepler, long-time author, "and I write to entertain. My primary intention is to go after the 'gee whiz!' and let the 'Golly, I didn't know that!' just happen.

Nowhere is this philosophy more evident than in his latest additions to the wonderful world of Kindle books, a big, sprawling miniseries called FRONTIER EPIC.

This story, well over a thousand pages, follows the adventures of several interrelated characters, both white and Native American over the course of several years after the Civil War. The paths of the characters intersect back and forth across the prairie, forming a rich tapestry of danger, romance and rugged survival.

This Western saga is a must-read.

And now, something about Don Hepler by Don Hepler:

Not really as somber as my picture would suggest, I am the survivor of an airplane crash, a semi-truck crash (I was in the sleeper at the time), and the big “C”. These ‘adventures’ may have given me a slightly skewed viewpoint on life not to mention a marginally warped sense of humor, probably because I’m pretty sure I am living on someone else’s time.

I have loved and been married to the same woman for over fifty years, and because of the above she has doubtless earned her celestial wings, not to mention the right to speak her mind.

I was first published in 1988 by Avalon Books of New York City, absolutely inspired by the passing of Louis L’Amour. He certainly made the world a poorer place by dying. Therefore, I turned my attention to the American West past and present…mostly past.

Avalon published nine of my books before being purchased by Amazon, and I now write and publish in the Kindle and paperback book section of Amazon, although occasionally one of my old hardback books becomes available.

If you like Westerns pick up a couple of my books, either eBook or paperback, and enjoy your journey back to the old West, a simpler time, when men were men and women were glad of it.

I am particularly proud of the FRONTIER EPIC and hope you enjoy the massive missive as much as I enjoyed writing it.
