Donald Rackin (February 24, 1933-November 23, 2022) was well known as the author of influential books and articles on the work of Lewis Carroll and other Victorian writers. What is less well known is that he was also a poet, because most of his poems were not published until their appearance in a posthumous collection issued in 2023. Also not published until after his death was THE SIMPLE LIFE, a highly regarded collection of his essays about some of the people he knew and loved in Prince Edward Island, Canada, and the impact they had on his life and thinking.
