Bob Davis

Bob Davis is a former Wall Street Journal senior editor who has long covered economic and trade issues. China, where he was based from 2011-2014, has long had a magnetic pull for him and his family.

Davis covered President Clinton's negotiations with Chinese Premier Zhu Rongji to enter the World Trade Organization, a deal that remade China and big parts of the U.S. economy. Later he chronicled President Trump's battles with Chinese President Xi Jinping, along with his Wall Street Journal Beijing correspondent, Lingling Wei, in "Superpower Showdown." Most recently he has been conducting interviews with China policy makers for The Wire China, an online publication that covers China relations. Those interviews were collected in the eBook, "Broken Engagement."
