I am a retired professor of philosophy and religion, community health, and psychiatry and human behavior with interests spanning the interface of philosophy, science, religion, and mental health. As a student of human beliefs and behaviors and a disciple of Socrates, I am especially concerned about the human potential for irrationality, both logical and psychological, and its impact on our well being and survival as a species. I love teaching, hate writing, and endure "everyday living." Nevertheless, I write to teach and teach to live, which makes it all worthwhile. I can only hope my doing so helps someone else live better too.
