Ian Barnard

Pronouns: They/them/their. I am Professor of Rhetoric and Composition in the English Department at Chapman University (USA). I'm the author of three monographs: Queer Race: Cultural Interventions in the Racial Politics of Queer Theory (2004); Upsetting Composition Commonplaces (2014); and Sex Panic Rhetorics, Queer Interventions (2020). And I'm co-editor of the collection Trigger Warnings: Teaching Through Trauma (2026).
