I was born more than a few decades ago near a library in Queens, New York - and have been addicted to reading and writing books ever since!
After being educated through college in the New York City public school system - I left the city "only" to get my Ph.D. in Psychology at Boston University. But life intervened, as it often does, and I have not yet returned to New York.
Through the years, I earned that Ph.D., added a J.D., had many and varied professional and personal experiences - in many parts of the country.
Currently, home is one that floats on the Columbia River in Portland Oregon. As I love water, having it all around me is a great experience! [The wet stuff that falls on me in town during the winter months is not as welcome.]
Several years ago, I learned that I am a "scanner." Scanners are those of us who are interested in most everything. Learning that - a huge cloud lifted from my head! I am not ADD, I am not "unable to settle down," I am not a "jack of all trades; master of none." I am a SCANNER!!!
[But after much thought, and writing, I have decided the term for me is "nonlinear brain," a kind of brain that is different.]
With the cloud gone, I decided to get busy writing about all things human development and more - mostly based on my life and professional experiences - but not in textbook format as I had once done. I want to write what's in my head - mostly without citing research and bibliographies. It's basically me thinking out loud and getting it all onto my computer.
I write on topics for parents, about aging, nutrition, politics, my pets, my river community and anything else that is of interest to me! And hopefully to you!
My writings could be called Lynn Dorman 201 - for the 2nd phase of my authoring life.
