Rod Kessler's short story collection OFF IN ZIMBABWE won the annual prize of the Associated Writing Programs (AWP) in 1983. After a long career teaching writing at Salem State University in Massachusetts, Kessler retired in 2014. In retirement he has been serving as literary executor for the poet Malcolm Miller (1930-2014). (Try a Google search of "Rod Kessler and Malcolm Miller.") Kessler's many stories, articles, reviews, poems, and columns have appeared in many publications. His grand novel, EDELMAN UNSUNG, was deemed of insufficient commercial appeal to be published.
