About
Father Jerry Overbeck is the chaplain of the School of Law and the School of Social Work for Loyola University of Chicago. Currently he team teaches Family Therapy, Couples' Counseling and Migration Studies in the School of Social Work. He has also been the University Liturgist at Loyola; for many years he has taught the theory and the art of liturgy in the university's Theology and University Ministry Departments. Since 1982, he has functioned as a liturgical consultant for the building and renovation of places for Christian worship, and for ten years he was Loyola's liaison with the Office for Divine Worship of the Archdiocese of Chicago. Since the inception of Campus Ministry as a profession (1970), he has been a member of university ministry teams at Loyola Chicago, Santa Clara, University of California Berkeley and Xavier. He has also offered courses, workshops and lectures in liturgical theology to university, high school, religious, hospital and parish groups.
