Patricia E. Sullivan

Patricia E. Sullivan, DPT, PhD has been a physical therapist for fifty years. Thirty of those years included international work in twenty countries teaching workshops, conducting PhD seminars, assisting the development of graduate programs, supervising research, and improving curricula. They also included conducting group exercise programs for elderly, and one on one treatments for children and adults with a variety of conditions. Her travel experiences range from riding on an elephant’s back in the jungles of Thailand, enjoying a desert dinner in a rugged tent in Bahrain, and trekking in the Himalayas in Nepal.

Dr. Sullivan has held faculty appointments nationally at Northwestern and Boston Universities, the MGH Institute of Health Professions in Boston and Harvard Medical School. International appointments include Curtin University in Perth, Australia; The National Taiwan University in Taipei, Taiwan; Mahidol University in Bangkok, Thailand; and Kathmandu University in Dhulikhel, Nepal. She has co-written four physical therapy textbooks. This is her first book about her international experiences.
