Ryan Ahlgrim

When he was ten years old, Ryan Ahlgrim promised God he would become a pastor. A year later he changed his mind, deciding he wanted to become a spy. But becoming a pastor prevailed, and he has been serving congregations since 1979. A graduate of Goshen College (BA in English), Anabaptist Mennonite Biblical Seminary (MDiv in pastoral counseling), and McCormick Theological Seminary (DMin in preaching), Ahlgrim has served as a youth pastor, assistant pastor, church planter, and lead pastor. Currently he serves as pastor of First Mennonite Church of Richmond, Virginia. The author of "Not as the Scribes" (2002) and "Sick Religion or Healthy Faith?" (2016), Ahlgrim seeks to cultivate a Christian faith that is intellectually curious, creative, healing, and ... subversive.
