Barbara Valanis

Barbara Valanis was raised in Hershey, Pennsylvania. She and her husband of forty years currently live in Melbourne, Florida. They have four children and six grandchildren.

Barbara is a retired nurse, professor, epidemiologist, and health services researcher. During her professional career, she published two epidemiology textbooks, Epidemiology in Nursing and Health, and Epidemiology in Health Care. She has also published numerous articles in professional journals.

She recently published her first work of fiction, Second Chances. In the recent past, she and her husband lived in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii, the setting for the book.
