Terry Wright

Terry Wright (1938 - ) I was born into a large family of second generation Irish, Scotts, German immigrants living in Southern Illinois. We grew up in the American South and I served a four-year enlistment in the cold war U.S. Air Force.

Having been methodically instructed on the value of rank and education for four long years by the military, I went back to school and got a BS, MS and PhD in Aerospace Engineering at Georgia Tech. I then pursued a career in engineering research and teaching, writing and publishing research papers and two textbooks in Mechanical Engineering.

Along the way I had the most fun interacting with the engineering students, the really bright ones AND the strugglers who'd finally get it. Their faces could light up and make your whole day - or week! By contrast, writing fiction is a pretty lonely business.

In recent years, I've written and published poems and short stories, notably my first place prize winner published in the August 2011 issue of Writer's Journal, soon to be followed by two more works in progress. I've recently published a novel, Club Tripoli, And a collection of short stories, Quiet Little Men and Other Stories. Now, if I can just finish the two new novels and the new collection of short stories I'm working on....
