Dilwyn Phillips

Dilwyn Phillips was brought up in a mining community in South Wales. He is the son of a colliery worker and his introduction to humor was derived from living in a mining community with all the different characters as neighbors. He continued to meet different characters whilst working in Civil Engineering and later as a School Teacher.

A few years before retirement, he decided to write a joke book, 'Welsh Jokes', based on some of the characters he had met, and due to the unexpected success of this book, others followed including 'After Dinner Jokes'.

Dilwyn has since written, 'Masonic Jokes', for which all the proceeds are donated to various charities including Help for Heroes. The inspiration for the writing this book followed a family member being injured, whilst serving with the Royal Marines in Helmand Province, Afghanistan.

After dinner speakers will find 'After Dinner Jokes' a most valuable source of wit and wisdom, everyone else, no matter how old, or young, is sure to find a smile or two within its pages, and something to lift the spirits
