Michael Nelson

Michael Nelson's life began in a small Housing Commission home in 1955 (baby boomer generation), to a low income working class family. During his formative years he was exposed to domestic violence, sexual abuse and bullying. At 15 he broke up with his girlfriend and went into deep depression, resulting in three suicide attempts. He began work at 16 as a Radio Apprentice, then joined the RAAF. He was married at 20 and had 2 children. After nine years of marriage his wife divorced him, but he remarried which also ended in divorce. Michael is now happily married to his third wife and has 2 more children.

At 50 he studied counselling and was actively employed as a counsellor for 10 years. After retiring he wrote this book which has its genesis in Michael's personal experience and his hope to offer hope to those who believe there is no hope. Also, to create greater awareness in the community of those people who are at risk of suicide and perhaps even save lives.
