Tom Kopf

Thomas W. Kopf is a Partner in DTJ DESIGN, Inc., a 90-person multidiscipline firm located in Boulder, Colorado. DTJ offers community planning, residential and commercial architecture, and landscape architecture services to clients nationwide. As a planner and landscape architect, Thomas has specialized in residential community design since 1978. His thoughtful design approach considers both the needs of the developer, and the desires of the marketplace. At DTJ DESIGN, Thomas leads many of the design teams seeking innovative and cost-effective solutions for places to live, gather and play.

Thomas has written numerous articles on community design, and his work has been featured in Professional Builder, Builder, and Land Development magazines. He is a frequent seminar speaker for NAHB and has participated in the Land Planning workshops for over 16 years. Thomas was instrumental in creating DTJ DESIGN’s position paper on Smart Growth, which has been distributed by ULI; and has been the keynote speaker for the Baton Rouge Growth Coalition’s Smart Growth Awards program. In addition, he has judged the Best in American Living Awards and the South Florida’s BEST Awards.
