Arshud Mahmood

Arshud Mahmood was born the son of a railroad doctor in India, and later lived in Pakistan for the remainder of his childhood and youth. He came to America in 1969 and received his Ph. D. in engineering from the University of California, Berkeley. His railroad travels in India and Pakistan, and work assignments in Alaska, Texas, Louisiana, Chile, Indonesia and Middle East aroused his interest in pre-history. His native region - Indus Valley - is the subject of this book - Dancing Girl of the Indus Valley. His earlier short story collection - Coffee with Chicory - describes his cross-cultural experiences. While teaching at UCLA he authored a textbook - Site Investigation, Remediation and Closure - all three books are available through Amazon. He lives in Southern California, where he works as a consulting engineer.
