I wrote my first book in third grade. It was about a red-headed girl with a horse. Then I wrote a book report about it. I’m economical that way.

Writing a bio is hard. On the one hand it feels like boasting, on the other it’s embarrassing how little I have to boast about.

I could tell you about my education, a masters degree in playwriting.

I could list all the places I’ve lived. Right now I’m in Cuenca, Ecuador in the middle of the Andes Mountains.

I could list my loves; my family, writing, traveling, dogs, horses, and kayaking. I could tell you about my love affairs…but I’d rather you read my books.

My philosophy concerning writing is simple; Story is everything. Correct grammar is great and elegant word choices are exquisite, but it’s the story that counts. That’s how I think of myself, as a storyteller.
