Karin Snelson

Karin Snelson is a Seattle-based book editor, author, translator, and reviewer, specializing in children’s and young adult literature. She has served on a Newbery Medal selection committee, on two ALA Notable Children’s Books committees, and on a 2022 Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award nominating committee through USBBY. She is the co-translator of the French picture book Jerome by Heart by Thomas Scotto and illustrator Olivier Tallec, which won a 2019 Batchelder Honor; At the Drop of a Cat by Élise Fontenaille and illustrator Violeta Lópiz; You Can't Kill Snow White by Beatrice Alemagna, which was shortlisted for the Global Literature in Libraries Initiative's Translated Young Adult Book Prize; and 101 Ways to Read a Book by Timothée de Fombelle and illustrator Benjamin Chaud. She is also the translator of the French graphic novel The Magicians by Blexbolex.
