Frederic Bushman is a Professor of Microbiology Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Bushman received his bachelor’s degree in Biology and English at Amherst College. He received his PhD in cellular and developmental biology at Harvard University. His research focuses on host/microbe interactions, with specific projects focusing on the human microbiome, HIV pathogenesis, and human genome modification. In recent years many of his studies have been driven by the new deep DNA sequencing technologies and custom bioinformatic methods. Dr. Bushman has published over 200 research papers (ISI h factor of 58).
