Beverly Pangle Scott was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee. After graduating from the University of Memphis in 1972, she took up permanent residence in Memphis. Since that time, she has earned her Masters in Secondary Education, taught English and history for six years in public schools, and worked as a guidance counselor at a Catholic girls school. She has been married for forty years and raised two daughters. Her books center around her memories of everyday events in the life of a Catholic girl growing up during the 1950's and 1960's. Her books are rich in cultural references and common experiences, which make them appealing to anyone interested in seeing the world through the eyes of a child/teenager.
