Barbara Chamberlain

Barbara Chamberlain Is currently president of the Northern California National League of American Pen women. While working at the Harrison memorial Library in Carmel,California, she conceived the characters for the first in a series of mysteries, the Jaden Steele Mysteries, A Slice of Carmel. The second in the series is titled Slash and Turn. Barbara loves to tell stories and has performed for many groups, Tellebrations, and The Palo Alto Childrens Library Storytelling Festival. She graduated from the University of California at Santa Cruz and received her masters in Library and Information Science at San Jose State University. Barbara worked at Bradley Elementary School in Coralitos, California, Monterey City Library in Monterey, California, and in Carmel. Volunteer activities include being Past President of the Cabrillo Host Lions Club. Barbara and her husband, Dave, were named as outstanding Lions in Multiple District Four (California-Nevada) in 2010. In 2009 her short story for youth/teen, A Bowl of Rice, won the Writers Digest Writing Competition. In 2011 The Flight of Alpha I was awarded first by the White Mountain, Arkansas Writers Workshop. She has taught storytelling and creative writing at seminars.
