Ronald E. Winter is the author of four books including the recently completed Victory Betrayed, US Marines in Operation Dewey Canyon. His works include the non-fiction Masters of the Art, A Fighting Marine’s Memoir of Vietnam, published by Random house, in addition to the non-fiction Granny Snatching, How a 92-year-Old Widow Fought the Courts and Her Family to Win Her Freedom, and The Hypocrite, A Celestial Murder Mystery, his first novel. He has written more than a thousand magazine and newspaper articles. Winter joined the U. S. Marine Corps in January, 1966 serving four years on active duty including a 13-month tour in Vietnam as helicopter crewman, avionics technician and aerial gunner. Winter flew more than 300 combat missions and was awarded 15 Air Medals, and Combat Aircrew wings with three stars. After completing his enlistment, Winter returned to college, earning undergraduate degrees in electrical engineering and English Literature. He spent nearly 20 years as a print journalist earning numerous awards for investigative reporting, including a Pulitzer nomination. He has worked as an adjunct professor of communications, runs an event management business specializing in military reunions, is a certified personal trainer and an amateur competitive powerlifter. He also works as a media relations specialist for public relations, advertising, and marketing firms. In 2004 he was honored by the Library of Congress at the launch of its Voices of War project.
