Barbara Rosenthal

Barbara Rosenthal is a native NY artist and writer, whose major books are Clues to Myself (VSW 1981), Sensations (VSW 1984), Homo Futurus (VSW 1986), Soul & Psyche (VSW 1998) and Wish for Amnesia (Deadly Chaps Press, 2017). She taught Writing at the City University of New York for 22 years, and Photography for 12 years at Parsons/The New School. Her writings have been included in anthologies such as Cradle and All (Faber and Faber), The Big Book of Sex and The End of the American Dream (both Autonomedia). She has appeared solo at international venues such as the Cialuna Library in Barletta, Italy; Waterloo Action Centre, London; and Studio-Baustelle in Berlin, and featured in NYC at Bowery, Parkside, Shades, HiFi, Cornelia St and NYPL. Much of her work involves psycho-social family and culture dynamics of identity within surreal and existential themes.
