Canadian writer and editor Susan Mayse’s books include a science fiction novel (Shadow Matter, under S.W. Mayse), a historical novel (Awen, shortlisted, Georgette Heyer Award for Historical Fiction), the biography of a labour leader who was shot by the Canadian government in 1918 (Ginger: The Life and Death of Albert Goodwin; Edna Staebler Award for creative nonfiction, Crime Writers of Canada’s Arthur Ellis Award for true crime), and a political thriller (Merlin’s Web, first runner-up, Crime Writers of Canada’s Arthur Ellis First Novel Award).
Having worked in the NWT, Alberta, Wales, Yukon, and at home in BC, she lives with her family and cat on Vancouver Island.
