George Townsend

George Emery Townsend was born in Ionia, Michigan, where the Townsends found early success in ranching, farming and landownership. He was a teenager when the family uprooted to the San Joaquin Valley of California. In his youth George worked as a carpenter and heavy equipment operator, and he held various positions in hospitals. Once on course he found his natural talent as an investigator tied nicely with his hunger to research the old west. Over the years he has written several short stories and performed on the local stage. The characters and stories in his books come from the interesting individuals he has come to know over the years.
