Author Jack Bernard was born in Lafayette, Louisiana of a family of French heritage. He attended the Sorbonne in Paris, and the University of Montreal. He holds a Phd in French History and a PhD in Languages. Dr. Bernard was an editor at Doubleday, and translated Jacques Cousteau’s works into English. He has spent many years at his 12th century chateau in the countryside of France. Dr. Bernard is the author of three well-regarded histories, including the biography of the crafty French bishop-politician, Talleyrand.
