John E. Snyder

John E. Snyder, M.D., M.S., M.P.H. F.A.C.P. is an Internal Medicine physician currently performing health policy work for the Federal government, with a focus on health care delivery system reform and ensuring access to high quality care for underserved and vulnerable populations. He has previously worked in academia (medical and graduate medical education) and was the Program Director of an Internal Medicine residency program. He still teaches medical students and maintains a part-time clinical practice.

His best-known publication is Evidence-Based Medical Ethics: Cases for Practice-Based Learning, a textbook co-authored with Dr. Candace C. Gauthier of the University of North Carolina Wilmington and published by Humana-Springer Press in 2008 (ISBN 978-1-60327-245-2). His second book, entitled Breaking Down Barriers to Care: Treating Tobacco Dependence in Vulnerable Populations (ISBN 978-1608769766), was co-authored with Dr. Megan Engelen and was released by Nova Publishers in August 2010.
