Graeme Lofts

Graeme Lofts was born in Melbourne, Australia in 1951. After completing a Science Education degree with a major in Physics he taught Physics and Science in Australian secondary schools for 15 years before co-authoring his first science text book in 1990. Since that time he has been senior author of numerous Science and Physics text books, including Science Quest, Jacaranda Physics, Core Science and Jacaranda Science.

In 1997 The Science Quest series was named best series and won the overall award in The Australian Awards for Excellence in Educational Publishing. Since then, Graeme has become a full-time author and has moved beyond text books as co-author of Australia's Dangerous Creatures for Dummies and sole author of Heart and Soul: Australia's First Families of Wine - the story of twelve multi-generational families of Australian winemakers. 'Heart and Soul' was ranked second in the New World Wine category of the 2011 Gourmand World Cookbook Awards in Paris in March 2012.

Graeme's most recent book is Family Business Success Stories: How Australia's iconic family brands have stood the test of time, published in late 2019 by Major Street Publishing.

Graeme Lofts has also edited a number of children's books and historical publications. He has also written, presented and produced videos about science for primary (elementary) and secondary schools.
