Peter James Merrington

Peter Merrington lives in Cape Town, South Africa. He has recently published _The Zombie and the Moon: more tales from the shaman's record_. This is the first sequel to his _Zebra Crossings: tales from the shaman's record_. Both are published by Jacana Media. The Zombie will be released internationally in October 2011.

He is a motorcyclist, ceramic sculptor, literary historian and river warden. He is a 'professor extraordinaire' affiliated to the Humanities, University of the Western Cape, and a local preacher in the Methodist Church of Southern Africa.

The new novel includes a magic motorcycle among others, and a road trip through the USA. This is based on notes from his own motorcycle journey through the states - 15 000 kilometres, 18 states, on a classic Honda CB550. He has also ridden across Europe (Yamaha Diversion 600/4) and around Southern Africa (BMW R7/100).

He is interested in the power of imagination, metaphor, and myth.
