Michelle Cameron’s NAPOLEON'S MIRAGE (She Writes Press, 2024) is the sequel to BEYOND THE GHETTO GATES, an epic saga of love and adventure spans continents and conflicts during the Napoleonic invasion of Egypt. Napoleon’s Mirage tells the story of two long-distance lovers amid war, plague, and the stirrings of a bold new future. It continues the story of Daniel, Mirelle, and Christophe, as Napoleon sails with his troops to an unknown location and Mirelle faces the consequences of being labeled a "fallen woman."

BABYLON: a novel of Jewish Captivity (Wicked Son, 2023), is the epic saga of a Judean family exiled to Babylon. The multi-generational Biblical story of Sarah, her children and grandchildren, exiled to Babylon when King Nebuchadnezzar’s army conquers Judea and destroys the Temple. The novel also tells the story of Nebuchadnezzar’s ambitious children: their prescient dreams, interpreted by Daniel the prophet, palace intrigues, betrayal, and even regicide.

BEYOND THE GHETTO GATES (She Writes Press 2020) was awarded a Silver Medal in Historical Fiction by the Independent Book Publishers, won First Place/Best of Category for the Chanticleer Goethe Awards and was a Foreword Indies finalist. As Napoleon Bonaparte campaigns in Italy in 1796-7, he frees the country’s Jews from their repressive ghetto. This unleashes a clash of cultures between Jews and Catholics, resulting in bloody riots, murder attempts, and even star-crossed love.

THE FRUIT OF HER HANDS: the Story of Shira of Ashkenaz (Simon & Schuster's Pocket Books, 2009) was based on the life of the author’s thirteenth-century ancestor, Meir ben Baruch of Rothenberg, a renowned Jewish scholar of medieval Europe.

Michelle’s first full-length novel in verse, IN THE SHADOW OF THE GLOBE (Lit Pot Press, 2003) was named as the Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey’s 2003-4 Winter Book Selection. In addition, it has been a performance piece in various venues, including the Stella Adler Studio of Acting’s Shakespeare Benefit for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights Aids

Michelle is a director of The Writers Circle, which offers creative writing to kids and adults in Summit, South Orange, Maplewood, Montclair and Morristown and virtually. She teaches novel classes to adults and creative writing to children and teens.

Michelle lives in New Jersey with her husband. She has two grown sons of whom she is inordinately proud.
