Roland Sweet

Roland Sweet is the editor-in-chief of Log Home Living magazine, which he helped launch in 1989. Over the years he has also has been editor of Log Homes Illustrated, Timber Homes Illustrated and Distinctive Wood Homes magazines. His book, Log Home Secrets of Success, was released in 2010. His earlier title, 100 Best Log Home Floor Plans, was released in 2007.

When asked why he wrote Log Home Secrets of Success, Roland said, "After 20 years of talking to the owners of existing log homes, I realized that too many people who really wanted log homes were being thrown off track by the complexity of obtaining their dream. I wrote this book to cut through the confusion that discourages them and explain what really matters and what doesn’t so they can confidently move from wanting a log home to getting one."

Roland received a master's degree in magazine journalism from Syracuse University. He lives with his wife, artist Theodora Tilton, in Mount Vernon, Virginia, where he can be found hiking, flying, and compiling news of human folly, which he chronicles in a weekly syndicated newspaper column.
