Stephen McNamee

Stephen Anthony McNamee was born and raised in Montreal, Canada. He attended Loyola High School, graduated from St. Leo’s Academy in suburban Westmount, and returned to Loyola College (now Concordia University) to further his education.

Mr. McNamee’s first novel, AND WE’RE OFF!, was published by Longman in Toronto and, as a result of its success, the author was awarded a Canada Council Scholarship. He has since written fifteen novels, two nonfiction works, SHIP WRECK and THE INCREDIBLE SUMMER, and a collection of short stories entitled CARIBBEAN INTERLUDE.

Most of the author’s novels are centered around a group of ten close friends growing up together in Westmount. TEN THOUSAND DAYS HAS OUR YOUTH lays the foundation for Mr. McNamee’s literary work. Volume One of this trilogy pertains to their High School Years; Volume Two depicts their College Years; and Volume Three concerns their Career Years.

Most of this group of ambitious, altruistic characters become protagonists in novels of their own. Lindsay Maxwell, for example, is the young doctor whose career takes him and his wife to the Caribbean to practice medicine in a Third World environment; Jim Steele is determined to become a football star in the NFL in ROOKIES OF THE YEAR; while his close friend, Rink Champion, attempts to do likewise as a hockey player in the NHL.

All twenty of Mr. McNamee’s exciting novels and literary works are now available in Kindle Editions. A chronological listing of the author’s works appears in the front matter of each of his books.

In addition to creative writing, Mr. McNamee enjoys photography, traveling to exotic locations and taking part in numerous sports, all of which he finds useful and complement his literary endeavors.
