Evelyn Johnson-Taylor, Ph.D. has three decades of leadership in women’s ministry dedicated to guiding women through the various seasons of their lives. Her overarching vision is to encourage, empower, and equip women to triumph in every stage of life. Drawing upon both the wisdom of God’s Word and her personal experiences, Evelyn actively pursues her vision through coaching, mentoring, training, public speaking, and authoring award-winning books. The biblical principles she imparts serve as a transformative force, fostering encouragement, empowerment, and the necessary tools for women to embrace their God-given potential.
An ordained minister, alongside her late husband Pastor Scott Taylor, founded the Good News Bible Church in Gaithersburg, Maryland, and Good News Global Ministries in Wesley Chapel Florida. For fourteen years, she presided over Women of Promise International Ministries, Inc., a non-profit outreach ministry dedicated to providing hope and healing for women.
Her caregiving journey for her husband from 2008 to 2018 inspired a dedication to offer hope and encouragement to fellow caregivers. Her commitment to advocating for those caring for loved ones earned her a position on the advisory board for the Senior Connection Center, a non-profit dedicated to working closely with seniors, their families, and caregivers. Her community involvement helps her remain attuned to the needs and resources available to those in caregiving roles.
Evelyn’s impactful message has reached a broader audience through multiple guest appearances on shows like HomeKeepers with Arthelene Rippy, Atlanta Live, podcasts, and various other media platforms. Her advocacy revolves around empowering women and stressing the importance of self-care for caregivers. She is the host of Value of a Season monthly Facebook Lives.
Anticipating her sixth book, In and Out of Seasons, Thriving in Life’s Transitions, traditionally published by Elk Lake Publishing, scheduled for release in the summer of 2024, Evelyn aims to inspire, motivate, and encourage readers. The book is centered on providing reassurance to individuals that God’s plan for their lives is unshaken. By embracing trust and faith, they can successfully navigate challenging seasons with God’s guidance.
Her other literary works include Women of Promise, Seven Blessing Blockers Discover How You Can Overcome Hindrances to the Abundant Life, Identity Crisis Discovering Your True Identity in Christ, A Woman’s Call Living a Life of Purpose, See Me Hear Me Know Me from the Heart of a Caregiver, and contributing author to She Writes for Him Black Voices of Wisdom.
Evelyn serves on the Advanced Writers and Speakers steering committee and is a member of Word Weavers International.
Dr. Evelyn Johnson-Taylor is a requested speaker for writers, women, and caregivers’ conferences, as well as other events. Reflecting on her journey, a widow since 2018, humbly acknowledges the steadfast faithfulness of God in this and every season of her life.
Her academic accomplishments encompass an Associate's Degree in Nursing, a Bachelor's Degree in Women's Studies, and Master's and Ph.D degrees in Christian Ministry. She is a theology professor at Grace and Truth Christian University in Tampa, FL.
