Jenny Pavlovic is an award-winning author and the founder of 8 State Kate Press, known for sharing heartfelt true stories that celebrate resilience, compassion, and the extraordinary bonds between humans and animals. She is passionate about inspiring children and adults to discover the strengths within themselves and others. Through her writing and advocacy, she encourages readers to lead with empathy and celebrate what makes each individual unique. She is the creator of the new Can Do Books for Kids series, which shines a light on differently abled animals and the lessons they teach about inclusion, empathy, and possibility.
What Blue Can Do marks the debut of Can Do Books for Kids, a planned series featuring true stories of differently abled animals whose lives demonstrate courage, resilience, and the many ways every individual can make a difference. Jenny encourages readers to embrace differences, challenge assumptions, and recognize that everyone has something meaningful to contribute. Through each story, young readers will be encouraged to shift their perspective from what an animal cannot do to the unique strengths and qualities each one offers.
Jenny is an animal and nature lover, medical device engineer, and certified coach with the Equine Assisted Coaching Association (EACA). She lives in Wisconsin with dogs Audrey, Brighty, and Maizy, and cat Leela. Bluey lives nearby. Jenny loves to spend time with her animals, walk on the trails, swim, kayak, ride her bike, and read good books. Brighty and Jenny are Pet Partners volunteers at the local library, where they help kids develop their reading abilities.
