Jennifer Scoggin, creator of the character Mrs. Mimi, has been teaching elementary school in New York City for eight years. Jennifer created Mrs. Mimi two years ago partially as a therapeutic exercise to deal with some of her professional frustrations and partially to share some the hilarious antics her little friends routinely stage in the classroom. At the time, she never thought anyone would read a word she wrote, much less find her funny. Yet, two years later, here we are. Her book, It's Not All Flowers and Sausages: My Adventures in Second Grade, is based off her popular blog of the same name.
In her other life, Jennifer is a doctoral student at Teachers College, Columbia University. She holds a master's degree in Sociology and Education (also from Teachers College). She graduated with her teaching certificate from Connecticut College in 2000.
