Born in Pennsylvania and raised in California, England, and various parts of
Alaska, Steffan Piper has spent most of his life arriving somewhere unexpected
and making the best of it.
He served honorably in the United States Marine Corps and is a veteran of the
Persian Gulf War.
He has worked as a screenwriter and editor, and his writing continues to occur
almost exclusively in the dead of night, which his family has accepted as a
feature rather than a flaw.
The Mayor of Nome once asked him to leave and never return, due to a minor
misunderstanding. He has honored that request.
In the years since his last publication, Steffan is currently working in the
Coachella Valley as a clinical Marriage and Family Therapist. He works with
people in the middle of difficult things and considers it the most important
work he has ever done, fiction included.
