I'd like to take this opportunity to reach out to my readers, as I am currently updating the 5th edition of Moon Guatemala (I can't believe this is my 4th time working on this! Where does the time go?).

For this next edition, my goal is to provide curated content gleaned from my frequent visits over the past 9 years since taking on this title. This includes providing a sampling of places I believe will be around for the long haul.

The new edition is full color because we think you'll agree that a country like Guatemala is best experienced in color. It's also 150 pages shorter. We've trimmed the fat and made some big improvements. It's the only Guatemala guidebook with color photographs taken by a professional photographer in real time while traveling around the country. It's also written by a Guatemalan-American with unique insights that can only be gleaned from a singular, fully bi-cultural viewpoint. It really is a labor of love.

Likewise, the entire Moon Travel Guides series has undergone a re-design. The cover photo now occupies the entirety of the front cover, for example. We hope you'll like the new look, feel, and content of this fully updated guidebook!
