Randolph Mase was born in New York City and lived his earlier years in the metropolitan area, graduating from West Point up the Hudson River. In addition to tracing his family history, he writes fiction. He is the author of six Matthew Hogan Mysteries:
Death on Broadway, Death Beneath the Streets, Death in Central Park, Death at the Cloisters, Death Inside Diamond Head, and Death Under Jones Beach. He has also written a historical novel of the American Revolution, Nathan Hale. Mase is now working on two projects: a collection of biographical stories of his ancestors, Bibles and Bullets, and the seventh book in the Matthew Hogan Mystery series, Death Along the Hudson. He has two grown children and two grandsons who live in the Washington, D.C. area, and he lives with his wife in Pennsylvania. He has traveled extensively, having visited all 50 of the United States and more than 20 other countries.
