Known mainly as Robin Jansen, I also write under the name of Robin Shope.

Thank you for your interest in learning a bit about me.

I was raised in Chicago, Illinois in the 1950s and summered on Lake Delavan in Wisconsin. My dad was the owner of a prominent Chicago nightclub, The Ivanhoe, and battled alcoholism. My mom was a loving Christian lady who spent much time in prayer.

In present day, I am a teacher and work with juvenile delinquents. I am the proud owner of three rescue dogs who actually rescued me. The mom of two adult children, I am also a Mimi of two young boys.

We all have challenges in life. I shelter my adult son who is mentally ill. In many of my stories, you will find similar characters who struggle with life. My books, in many ways, are a partial reflection of my life.

I write under two names Robin Jansen and Robin Shope. I hope you will read my words and find something in them that speaks to you personally. Nothing thrills an author more than a book review on what took us hours, weeks, months, and even years to create in order to tickle your brain.
