Edward G. Schultz, who calls himself "Author Ed", was born and raised in Pittsfield, Massachusetts. Almost immediately after graduating high school, Ed enlisted in the Army Tank Corp and was assigned to the 3rd Armored Division. This Division received the accolade "Spearhead" because of its rapid advance across France and Belgium during World War II. Ed however, was wounded when the Division saw action shortly after the invasion of Normandy. Upon discharge from the service Ed took employment as a Manager of motion picture theatres. After a few years, wanting to change careers, he began taking drafting and engineering courses at a local college, as well as night school and correspondence school courses. He became employed in the drafting field and within a few years became Chief Draftsman for a Company having overseas sales activity. Ed moved from engineering to sales, and was assigned to service Europe and Israel. Ed made many trips to these destinations before he retired. Soon after retirement, Ed began his first novel, "Morgan's Mission", a story of the early days of the California Missions and their pioneering efforts and difficulties. Ed perfomed much research for this novel on-site at several of the old Missions. Soon after the publication of that first novel, Ed published a book of Christmas short-stories. This was followed by a book of unique poetry and another novel, "Elizabeth's Encounters". Within the past year Ed has published two more novels, "Sly, The Scoundrel" and "Benedictus, A Troubled Man Of God", as well as another book of unique original poetry. Several of these are available on Kindle, as well as in print.
Ed also researched and published a family genealogy/history and a photo-biography of his well-known artist brother William J."Bill" Schultz. The latter book is available at www.blurb.com.
