Devra Renner

Devra Gordon Renner, MSW is an imperfect mother of two imperfect children. She is also an imperfect spouse to her practically perfect husband who is the only one in the family who doesn't leave shoes in the living room. Devra hates unloading the dishwasher and loves blasting The Talking Heads in her uber suburban mini-van. A native New Yorker-born and raised-who grew up in Connecticut too, she resides with her family in Northern Virginia.

Devra is a co-founder of Parentopia Consulting, a firm dedicated to alleviating parental angst in homes, at work and in the media. Most recently, Devra served as a Senior Consultant for Zero To Three's Coming Together Around Military Families (www.zerotothree.org/military) and a Family Engagement Specialist at Family and Schools Partnership for Fairfax County Public Schools. Currently Devra works as a School Social Worker for Fairfax County Public Schools. Devra is a Contributing Editor at BlogHer.com where she writes about the unique challenges and joys of parenting.

Her commentary is featured in The New York Times, Parents Magazine,and BabyCenter. She has presented for the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecologists and appeared on Dr Nancy Snyderman's show on MSNBC. Devra speaks at conferences and fundraisers, writes freelance for print and online outlets and is an experienced product spokesperson.

Along with Didi from The RugRats, Devra has been named by the Greater New Haven Historical Society as a Notable Jew From New Haven. While all of this may sound like she's incredibly busy, Devra still can always be found writing at Parentopia.com-along with Parent Educator and Child Development Specialist Aviva Pflock also an author of Mommy Guilt. And of course, maintaining a perfect home...perfectly chaotic!
