Jean Ryan, a native Vermonter, now lives in coastal Alabama. Her work has appeared in a variety of journals, including the anthology Outer Voices Inner Lives, which features stories by LGBT writers. She was a Lambda Literary award finalist for her story collection SURVIVALS SKILLS. She has written five books: two story collections, SURVIVAL SKILLS and LOVERS AND LONERS; a novel, LOST SISTER; a collection of nature essays, STRANGE COMPANY; and a poetry collection, A DAY LIKE THIS.
